Ray Caye Island Resort offers a unique vacation alternative to the hustle and bustle of Belize’s larger island and mainland beach destinations. Our Private Island caters to travelers who are looking for an exotic and fun vacation that is also authentic and natural. Our island resort has everything you’ll need and more to ensure a great time at Ray Caye whether it’s for a day or a week.
Belize’s healthy and growing Reef is the longest in the Western Hemisphere (approx. 200 miles)! It comprises more than 170 cayes (like ours!), 3 atolls (gorgeous underwater aquariums), mangrove systems, flats (for fly-fishing!), and wide-open expanses of sea. Our waters cover 200 nautical miles and our sea territory ranges from Ranguana Caye to the Sarstoon River, an area of 12 nautical miles. We are best known for our amazing diving and snorkeling sites, atolls, and cayes, all located along the 185 miles long Belize Barrier Reef – you can experience it all on your visit with us!
RESTAURANT & BAR
The Lionfish Grill is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 am for breakfast. Our daily menu is served from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Dinner is served from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Dine in the restaurant, poolside, or at the end of our covered pier. Ask our server about private dinners for special occasions (room service fee applies; subject to weather & staffing).
Ask to speak with the Chef at your first mealtime if you have any food allergies. The bar is also open from 7:00 am until as late as you like.
MARINE TOYS & ACTIVITIES

Hobie cats, kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear, and light fishing gear are all complimentary to guests and can be found at the Adventure Center. Fishing from the island is ‘Catch & Release’ only.
Snorkeling off our South Dock is a great way to test the waters. There is a ladder for easy access and a cover for shade.
Enjoy our volleyball court, and books and games can be found at the Welcome Center
VISIT PLACENCIA VILLAGE
If you would like to visit Placencia Village for a few hours or an entire day – check at the bar for boat transfer times – we would be happy to have you catch a ride to/from the mainland when we come in to pick up guests or supplies as long as we have a trip already scheduled.
GADGETS
You will find a safe, AC remote control, and Power Card in your room. Should you have any issues or need help with any of these gadgets please let the bartenders know so that they can call Maintenance to come and assist you.
FORGOT SOMETHING?
Our dive shop and adventure center stocks most of the items most commonly forgotten while traveling! We also carry sundries and drinks for in-room snacking.
WIFI & PHONE SERVICE
WiFi is found all over the island. The connection offered is not meant for streaming or video chat, but more for checking email and messaging. Limited cell phone service is available at the LionFish Grill, and, ‘time and charge’ paid calls are available at the office. You can find WiFi codes on the back of your room door.
ELECTRICITY & WATER
Electricity is standard U.S. 110 volt, 60 cycle AC from our inverters charged by our solar panels and backup generators. We want you to be comfortable but encourage energy conservation as well. Our water is potable, produced by our reverse osmosis desalination plants. Rainwater is harvested and hot water in each cabana is provided by a solar heater.
BUGS
Remember, you are visiting a tropical island paradise. You may find insects and mosquitoes, depending on the weather. We encourage you to use insect repellent when necessary to avoid bites and itches.
